Happy Thanksgiving

Boy oh boy, what a fun job breading this basket.
In the end it was definitely worth the time I spent.
Took a little time to figure out how to do it and make it look good though. The cake is pumpkin spice and is filled with an English Toffee cream.
I tried to come up with something to compete with the traditional pie and it was received very well by my customers.
Mark your calenders if you guys want to have something different for Thanksgiving dessert next year.

An evening at the Flood Mansion in San Francisco

A few weeks ago I got invited by my good friends Curtis and Johan from Perfect Circle Photography (www.perfectcirclephotography.com), which supplied me with this beautiful pictures, to attend a wedding network event in the James Leary Flood Mansion.
WOW It was my first time to visit this location and I was very impressed. What a place to have a party. Marie Rios from Creative Occasions and Gwen Hellbush put on the event. Compliments to the ladies, a job well done. If you ever need an event planner for your wedding or another special occasion you should give Marie (www.creative-occasions.com) a call.
There were more than 200 wedding professionals in attendance.
It was great fun, I met a lot of people and made some good connections.
Thanks to Curtis and Johan for bringing me along.

Catch of the day

Nothing fishy about this cake. I am really happy with the look of the trout. It was tricky to make it thin and stand up, since it was made out of princess cake, which is quite soft and moist.
For all of you who don't catch anything on your next fishing trip, Give Krumbs a call and we hook you up with the "Catch of the Day"

Wine Needle or Space Bottle

That was a last minute order, quite tricky because of the height of the cake. Also lots of weight on the bottom layers. The basic construction is very important when building a skinny tall cake like that. And it's filled with fresh whipped cream. My friends it was a challenge but at Krumbs we live for that.
